Frequently Asked Questions How do I apply? Please download an application and brochure (links above) or call the school at 415-921-2328 and request an application and brochure. Please fill out the application completely and return it to the school (Attn: Admissions) along with your application fee. Once your application has been processed and your child has been added to the wait pool, you will receive a letter confirming this. This could take up to one month. Can I come on a tour? Learning tours are held according to the dates and times listed above. Please call the school at 415-921-2328 to request a tour. What ages do you enroll? We have seven classes at Cow Hollow School: Two 2-year-old classes (must be two by September 1), three 3-year-old classes (must be three by September 1), and two 4/5-year-old classes (must be four by September 1). How many students are in each class? For the 2006-2007 school year, there will be between 10-12 children in our two-year-old classes, and up to 17 children in our three-year-old and four/five-year-old classes. If my child has a summer birthday, making him/her a “young” candidate for private school kindergarten and therefore requiring a “pre-K” or extra year of preschool, will I need to find another program after Cow Hollow School? No, CHS is fully prepared to offer an extra pre-K year for young five-year-olds. We will tailor curriculum and program offerings for pre-K children to facilitate kindergarten readiness. I have a younger child also. Do I need to fill out a separate application now? Will we be guaranteed a sibling space? Each child needs a separate application to be added to the wait pool. Please remember that siblings are considered priority, but there is not a guarantee that we will have room and we do work by postmarked application date. Siblings of current students attending CHS receive top priority. I applied to Cow Hollow School previously, where am I on the wait pool? By mid-March each year we will have a clearer picture of our wait pool for that September after we determine how many students are returning in the fall, and after we know how many siblings need spaces. Please do not call to ask where your child is in the wait pool, as we cannot give out that information. When will we find out if our child has been accepted? Letters of admission will be sent each year by the beginning of March. In the event that any positions are declined, the admissions process will proceed according to normal wait pool procedures. If you have further questions about our admissions process, please call the school at 415-921-2328. |
